Don't worry, this isn't going to start off like one of those cooking blogs where I tell you my whole life story before I give you my secret recipe. I'll cut right to the chase because we all know that setting yourself up for success is how you succeed. This is my personal perfect way to prepare for the week ahead when I get to work on Monday mornings, take it or leave it.

Ingredient 1: Meditation Moment

Most of my routine happens at work, but my meditation moments (yes, I do two) happen before I walk into the office every day. I do the first of my meditations when I've finished getting ready at home before heading to the office. Tampa traffic is my literal nightmare, so I typically do another one once I have parked before I head inside. These meditations set me up to let go of anything happening in my personal life and leave a clear mind to focus on work.

How you can try it: Find a quiet spot, sit comfortably, and focus on your breathing. You can picture a serene scene, like a beach or a forest, and let any worries drift away. Apps like Headspace or Calm can guide you if you’re new to meditation!

Ingredient 2: Mapping Out My Tasks

I am someone who plans things out as far in advance as I can so Evernote is my best friend when it comes to organizing my week. I usually have tasks planned out for weeks ahead, so it's super important for me to make what I affectionately call my ta-da list before diving in for the week. While I plan to make a whole blog post dedicated to what my ta-da list is, the tldr of it all is the items on this list are the big priority items for the week. They can range from scheduling client content to sending a proposal to content creation and more. Making this list helps me dig through the 20-30 tasks for the week and easily identify the most important things to put my brain power into.

How you can try it: Write down your big priority items for the week. Break them into smaller tasks, and plan out when you'll do them based on importance and deadlines.

Ingredient 3: Positive Affirmations

Affirmations boost my confidence, foster a positive attitude, and remind me to approach the week with optimism and resilience. I like to just go with the flow when writing out my affirmations and write whatever comes to my mind. If I get frustrated throughout the week, I pull out my journal and re-read the intentions I had for the week to ground myself.

How you can try it: Choose affirmations that resonate with you. Whether you choose to speak them into the mirror or write them out, soak them in and truly believe them. Customize them to fit your goals or challenges for the week.

This combination of meditation, planning, and affirmations is my secret to a balanced and proactive start to the week. It helps me tackle tasks with clarity, focus, and a positive outlook. By nurturing my mind and setting clear intentions, I find myself more prepared and motivated to handle whatever comes my way. Even small changes in your morning habits can make a big difference in how you face the days ahead. Here’s to a week filled with productivity, positivity, and peace!
